Factory- 30min Sketch

I drew this for the Daily Spitpaint challenge group on fb- the theme was factory.
Few months ago I learned about Kowloon Walled City and I just loved the creepy, derelict atmosphere and I collected a whole bunch of references. Mostly of various factories and run down buildings, since there are very limited actual Kowloon photos.

I'm not sure I achieved the sense of height I imagined, but that's alright. My main goal was to make the space feel tight and metallic/cold. The warm lights are more for contrast, so the drawing catches the eye. Lately I prefer strong contrasts, but the catch is to no over do it. So towards the end I added some shadows set on multiply layer and lowered down the brightness of the background light.
